I had a wonderful time at the Gold Medal show of the California Art Club. Road trip with @benhammondfineart @bryanmarktaylor and @tysonsnowart and then we spent the evening chatting with the amazing @vanessalemen and @ronlemen.
Saw great paintings from @adriennestein @qhoartist @todorovitch @ericbowmanart @jamesgurneyart @jon.swihart.art @lipking and also went to @maxwellalexandergallery and saw a gorgeous @sergemarshen.
It was, to say the least, an inspiring trip and full of laughter and fun.

Had a great time painting at @caseychildsart studio tonight. 3 hr. sitting, 9x12 oils. Always fun conversation and seeing everyone work. Direct painting is a wonderful struggle. Never enough opportunities. .

Tonight's efforts. 9x12 oil on panel. Felt like some better understanding of form tonight. I have had a few people ask about my palette and materials. .
I have been enjoying @rosemarybrushes Evergreen extra long flats, Eclipse extra long flats and the Masterstroke extra long flats. .
My palette was Flake white, yellow ochre, vermilion, quin. red, buff titanium, bice from Vasari, ivory black.

I made a little sheet metal tray that fits in my @strada.easel Micro. Now I have a great portable watercolor kit! Magnets on the bottom of the watercolor pans a cup hold everything. Also, the travel brushes from @rosemarybrushes are excellent. Thank you Symi!

My @sketchwallet is always with me, which means I can always be working out ideas for future paintings. The sketches are rough but they are like a Harry Potter pensive for extracting/remembering ideas.
