I started this one with an acrylic wash and drawing and then moved into oils. I haven’t done a religious piece for a while and wanted to use this as a chance to experiement a bit. I wanted to use a palette that was very prismatic and leave a lot of the brushwork in place. I enjoyed painting the blue tones around the top of the head quite a bit. .
